Top 50 Interview Questions

The Core Categories

While every interview is different, 90% of questions fall into three buckets: Introduction, Behavioral, and Situational.

Part 1: The Introduction (The Icebreakers)

These set the tone. Keep answers concise (under 2 minutes).

  1. "Tell me about yourself." (Focus on your professional journey, not your childhood.)
  2. "Why do you want to work here?" (Connect your values to the company mission.)
  3. "What are your greatest strengths?" (Pick relevant skills backed by examples.)
  4. "What is your greatest weakness?" (Choose a real weakness and show how you are improving it.)

Part 2: Behavioral Questions (The STAR Method)

Use the Situation, Task, Action, Result method to structure these stories.

  1. "Tell me about a time you faced a conflict with a coworker."
  2. "Describe a time you failed and how you handled it."
  3. "Give an example of a goal you reached and how you achieved it."
  4. "Tell me about a time you had to manage tight deadlines."
  5. "Describe a situation where you had to lead a team."

Part 3: Situational & Cultural Fit

  1. "How do you prioritize multiple projects?"
  2. "What kind of work environment do you thrive in?"
  3. "How do you handle constructive criticism?"
  4. "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

4. Questions to Ask Them

Never say "I have no questions." It shows a lack of interest.

  • "What does success look like in this role for the first 90 days?"
  • "How would you describe the company culture?"
  • "What are the biggest challenges the team is facing right now?"
